Costs

In acting on your behalf we would need to enter into a Client Service Contract with you which would set out the work which would be undertaken by us and the manner in which this would be done.

The Contract sets out the basis upon which we would charge fees in your matter. In proceeding further with your matter we would need to have you sign this contract and return it to us. A second copy of the Contract will be provided to you for your records upon return of the signed copy to our office.

We confirm our advice that costs are charged by this firm are between $250 and $300 per hour (plus GST) depending upon the solicitor who is undertaking work in your matter. This is set out fully in our Client Service Contract.

In the event you were to commence proceedings there would also be fees that you would pay to the Court including:

  • Filing fee (paid at the time that you commence proceedings);
  • A hearing fee. This is paid only if you are the applicant in the proceedings (ie the person who instigates the matter). The fee is only paid if the matter proceeds to final hearing.

The filing fee and hearing costs vary depending on which court you file in. We will advise you of the costs upon determining which Court is the appropriate Court to commence your matter in. Further details of filing fees can be located on the Federal Magistrates Court website at www.fmc.gov.au or the Family Court website at www.familycourt.gov.au.

All costs are exclusive of GST.
